I am a lyricist, poet, and advocate based in Chicago, Illinois. As a two-spirit, Indigenous black trans femme who grew up in the south (Memphis, Tennessee) and has indigenous roots with the Choctaw tribe, I bring a unique perspective to my work. My written pieces have been published in compilations such as the TransWorks of Chicago House, Infinite Genders: You Can't Read With Us, and Changing The Story.
As a writer, I have been creating pieces for over 20 years. I am finalizing my debut poetry anthology, slated for a fall 2022 release.
As an advocate, I facilitate educational workshops and regularly serve as a panelist for discussions about trans/diverse gender issues. I serve as a director on multiple boards across the Chicagoland area.
As a performer, I have shared my work for many audiences in many spaces across the Chicagoland area, such as the annual Vives Q series, TransWorks Poetry Readings, and Youth Empowerment Performance Project (YEPP) productions. I have performed at and hosted multiple community-building events for Transcend the Binary in Detroit, Michigan.
In 2019, I was a recipient of the 30 Under 30 Award, presented by the Windy City Times.
In 2020, I was a recipient of Outstanding Transgender Person Award by the Esteem Awards.
Are you interested in booking me for your upcoming engagement? I will be more than happy to share my lyrical work, poetry, or speaking for your event needs. Trans/gender-diverse friendly or LGBTQ organizations are especially encouraged to inquire.
